Numerous well-marked hiking trails lead to alpine pastures and mountain huts where you can enjoy the fantastic view of the Tyrolean mountains in peace and quiet. Along the Lech - one of the last natural wild rivers in Europe with its extensive floodplains - cyclists and hikers get their money's worth.

You would like to spend your summer holiday with your beloved four-legged friend? No problem. Your pet is a welcome guest at our hotel. Our ideal location - directly on the edge of the forest, in the middle of the extensive natural landscape of the Lech Valley - offers your dog plenty of room to let off steam. If you are on the Lechweg or on one of the countless hiking trails, you will usually find a mountain stream or lake to cool off in between. Please note that dogs must be muzzled and kept on a lead on all public transport in the valley.

Countless hiking trails and exciting themed and adventure trails await you in the region's unspoilt natural landscape. Hardly any other region offers such an extensive and varied range of hiking opportunities.

There is something for every taste: the pleasure hiker can enjoy the magnificent natural beauty of the European Long Distance Trail or the Lech Trail, and the high alpine hiker will have a real treat with the section of the Adler Trail that leads through the Lechtal Nature Park region! An excursion to one of the numerous alpine pastures and huts is an unforgettable holiday experience for families, as in addition to the beautiful view, a delicious snack beckons as a reward for the effort.

Those who also like to go on a hike in between will be delighted by our over 50 huts and alpine pastures be completely thrilled. From the rustic alpine hut to modern gastronomy, everything can be found. 
 Tradition and customs are still writ large everywhere. So if you are lucky, you will see the mountain farmers harvesting hay or bringing it home. Breathe in the smell of freshly mown meadows or fields wet with rain. Experiences that cannot be offered or sent, but only "experienced".

Glide along high above the mountains of the Lechtal Alps and feel real, almost weightless freedom.  Unforgettable, a flight with the paraglider!

Easy climbing tours for beginners, but also climbing routes that require the highest concentration and good skills can be found in the Lechtal. Professional guides are of course also available with advice and assistance!
Our highlight: via ferrata at the Simmswasserfall in Holzgau: cross the waterfall via two rope bridges. thundering waterfall. A great via ferrata adventure also for children, which can be combined very well with a visit to the 200 m long suspension bridge on the way down!

Climbing in the Lech Valley

You can explore the Lechtal Nature Park region extensively not only on foot, but also on two wheels. On a total of 27 routes, which extend over approx. 150 km and where the Lech Cycle Path not even counting the beautiful panoramic trails, challenging mountain routes and alpine tours with great views await you. Here, both experienced mountain bikers and pleasure cyclists, but also families with children, get their money's worth.

Long-distance hiking experience in the Alps

The Lech Trail

The 125 km long long-distance hiking trail leads through an Alpine region that is also one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe: from Lake Formarin near Lech am Arlberg via Warth into the Lechtal-Reutte nature park region to the Lech Falls in Füssen in the Allgäu. It thus connects three regions and two countries with their respective traditions and histories. An unforgettable long-distance hiking experience!

A top excursion destination in the Lech Valley is Austria's longest pedestrian suspension bridge: It is 200 m long and 100 m high and leads over the wildly romantic Höhenbachtal gorge. Nearby are wonderful hiking trails on the sunny slopes of Gföllberg, Schiggenberg and Simmswasserfall.

The cheese dairy of the Sojer family in Steeg is today the only one in the entire Lechtal. Here, first-class milk from alpine pastures (1,500-2,500 m above sea level) rich in herbs and flowers has been processed by hand using traditional methods since 1903. The small shop and the Milchtrinkstube with terrace are definitely worth a visit!

A welcome and informative stopover for cyclists and hikers is the Nature Park House located on the Klimm Bridge. From the middle of the bridge near Elmen you have a beautiful view of the wide riverbed of the Lech, probably the last untamed wild river in the Northern Alps. The building is home to the nature park administration and informs visitors about the characteristics as well as rare animals and plants of this unique natural landscape. For children, there is a great nature park playground right next door.
